[041]Coffee with Dakota: Connecting to our Ancestral Lineage

Today’s Coffee Question

I have a question for you and would love to hear your thoughts:
In the spiritual communities we speak about connecting with our past lives. Whilst I love to do that, we don’t seem to mention our ancestry. The reason I mention this is because recently I connected with my ancestors from many generations ago to discover more about their lives.

Upon finding out more it truly resonated with me and enlivened my Soul like would have never expected. So much so that it truly resonates with what I do and who I am today.

Do you think we should speak about this more in these communities and why do you believe it’s not really spoken about?

Great topic for discussion. I love this working through family ancestry healing. I had a past life reading once that said my fear of water stemmed from “a past life of being killed in a plane crash above the ocean.” (Which I never mentioned to anyone before but also had this enormous fear of planes and heights as well) to where even taking a relative to the airport would send me into a panic attack. My family (Grandmother/Campbell Family) is also from Ireland and Scotland and were into druid pursuits.

The gratitude challenge has helped me to look for positive people, places and things in my life past and present. Everyday is different and reading the other participant’s stories is inspiring.

Hi Dakota, I did not get into the gratitude challenge. I am facing the loss of my home not because I didn’t pay for it, but because my siblings got control of it and the bank lied to me that they even had control, and with out a lawyer there is nothing a person can do, and all though my brother and uncle have stolen estates before they will continue to get away with it because you have to report it through a lawyer and if you do not have 2,000 to pay a lawyer the crime does not stop.. This is the way it is in Canada. I have prayed to find the money I need, I showed the Supreme court judge that the bank was lying but I do not know how to present the evidence correctly, My only hope was my Mom but it’s like my sister has placed a spell on her. My Mom is 84 and I’m scared she will have a heart attack. So i will be homeless and all the cats I take care of will be put down. I really do not have any where to go so I am just planning on hitch hiking and finding work where ever I stop to stay alive. This was my home, since I was little and I raised my daughter here, I have prayed and meditated and have gotten no response so I have to think that I am meant to be homeless. I only have a few weeks left here so I will keep going to your Facebook page as it gives me comfort to know that there are still good people in the world, and I am so grateful for it. Thanks Dakota for inspiring so many.

Love working with the ancestors….very powerful and healing work. After delving into the Elder Shield, along with the Mirror Dancer and the Ancestor Spirit Dancer, it just opened up so much more awareness of how important this work is. Your wisdom is inspirational Dakota and your ability to breathe life and clarity into these concepts is truly a gift. Aho.
